Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Day Treatment

BPD Day TreatmentIf you have tried individual therapy or an outpatient program and don’t require the structure of a residential program, then our Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) day treatment program may be just what you are looking for.

Our BPD day treatment program will provide you with treatment comparable to an inpatient or residential Borderline Personality Disorder program while you remain in the comfort of your own home or another supportive living environment.

Clearview Women’s Center offers the most intensive day treatment program for BPD on the West Coast, providing Borderline Personality Disorder therapy, support, and structure six to eight hours per day, five days per week. Our expert BPD treatment staff will assess your specific needs to determine the daily schedule that will work best for you, including the treatment of any co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, or an eating disorder.

If you need a more structured environment than your home while attending our BPD day treatment program, you can reside in our beautiful transitional living home located adjacent to our day treatment center. If you are struggling with drug or alcohol abuse in addition to Borderline Personality Disorder or traits of BPD, we are affiliated with many excellent sober living homes throughout Los Angeles.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy at Our BPD Day Treatment Program

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the core of our day treatment program for Borderline Personality Disorder. While in Clearview’s BPD day treatment program for women, you’ll be provided treatment by a team of therapists and psychiatrist expertly trained in DBT, the most effective evidence-based treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder.

Our comprehensive DBT program provides individual Dialectical Behavior Therapy twice a week, several DBT skills training groups, in-person coaching throughout the day, and phone coaching after hours. Because our program staff is trained in DBT, you will get a chance to strengthen the DBT skills of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance throughout the day and after treatment hours. This is important to ensure that your new skills are generalized to your natural environment.

Our DBT staff, including our psychiatrist and executive director, was extensively trained by Behavioral Tech, Marsha Linehan’s training institute, or another DBT training organization. The staff receives ongoing consultation from nationally known DBT trainer and consultant Charles Swenson, MD, who helps ensure that the DBT protocols are being followed and that we are providing the most current Borderline Personality Disorder treatment available to help you in your recovery.

In addition to Dialectical Behavior Therapy, groups at Clearview Women’s Center’s day treatment program for BPD include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, behavioral activation, life coaching, art therapy, yoga class, mind-body wellness for eating issues, and a seeking safety group, which is focused on managing the symptoms of trauma. In addition, you will work with our dietitian and psychiatrist if necessary.

An Intimate BPD Day Treatment Setting

DBT Day TreatmentLocated in an upscale residential area of Venice Beach, Calif., Clearview’s day treatment program for Borderline Personality Disorder provides treatment in an intimate setting less than 1 mile from the beach. At our day treatment center, you will be provided therapy in cozy rooms that feel more like your living room than a treatment center and be able to relax in a serene courtyard surrounded by trees.

At Clearview Women’s Center, our therapy groups have no more than eight women at a time, allowing us to provide you the individualized treatment you need to make a full recovery from your BPD and allowing you to feel comfortable, safe, and nurtured. While you aren’t able to bring your own pets to our day treatment center, on most days our chocolate lab Brutus makes his way to the group rooms to provide a sense of calm and healing that only animals can provide.

We also incorporate holistic therapies, such as art therapy and yoga, into your Borderline Personality Disorder treatment to treat your body as well as your mind. Mindfulness outings and practices are a regular part of the day’s activities. During the day, our private gourmet chef will prepare healthy meals that can be tailored to your specific dietary and nutritional needs, and you will have access to healthy snacks.

Preparing You for the Next Step

When you are ready to discharge from our day treatment program for Borderline Personality Disorder, we will help you decide the best next step. That may be continuing your Borderline Personality Disorder treatment at Clearview’s outpatient BPD treatment center, where you can continue to participate in regular individual and group therapy and engage in productive activities like work and school.

Whether or not you decide to continue in BPD treatment, we are confident that our day treatment program for Borderline Personality Disorder will give you the skills needed for better emotional regulation, improved relationships, and healthier coping tactics.
